I really want to know who likes Geometry better then Algebra?

geometry
curiousblonde asked:

I like geometry better because instead of JUST solving for x you actually get to see and know what you are trying to solve for. I just wanna know WHY you would like algebra better?

Can you get into a good college/university without taking calculus in high school?

calculus
thats_scandalous92 asked:

I don’t plan on taking calculus in high school, since math is not my strongest subject (I am better at english, history, and science). I was planning on going up to pre-calculus and maybe AP stat if my schedule allowed it. Do colleges care if you don’t take the highest-level math classes in high school?

Should I drop honors geometry to the regular class?

geometry
fortunamajor asked:

I’m not very good at Algebra. Last year, I took honors Algebra. I had a horrible teacher who scared everyone. It was hard to learna lot and most kids got all 100% but I always got B’s. My final average was a B+. I’m willing to work a little harder than most in order to get good grades. Do you think I should not be in honors geometry?

Shanlei asked:

Can someone help me out with these Geometry Questions?

1. The point K (4, 3) is rotated 90 degrees about the origin. What is the sum of the x- and y-coordinates of the image?

2. The point P (1, 3) is rotated 180 degrees about the origin, and then reflected in the line y = 0. What is the y-coordinate of the image?

3. The point T (5,-1) is reflected in the y-axis. What is the distance between the image and the pre-image?

How can I prepare for a university calculus class?

calculus
kittenpie asked:

I just registered for an introductory calculus class at the University of Minnesota. I have a 4-year college degree, but I haven’t taken any math since I took calc in high school over 10 years ago, and I don’t remember a thing. I’m not even sure how much algebra/trig/pre-calc are even floating around in my brain anymore. What is the best way to prepare myself for this class, so I’m not completely overwhelmed? The first class session is in three weeks.
